Low key day

We have been extremely busy since Tuesday. Yesterday, I devoted my whole day to assist Sean due to Undersecretary visit and our Ambassador visit with their officers. I have not seen Alec for two days because I always missed him. We always came home after he went to bed. So, last night whilst Sean made some calls regarding Bengkulu earthquakes, I took Alec to the mall and played some legos, did some glass painting, let him ride some motorbikes at timezone (the arcade) and went home at nearly ten o'clock. Alec was so tired when we got home but very happy. Today, though we felt a little shake from Jambi's earthquake and we spent the day at the pool and stay close with everyone.

Dr. Jan (our Regional Medical Officer from AmEmb Jakarta) came to visit us in Medan. Don't ask me what Alec was doing. I was talking to the doctor when Sean captured this moment. But I'm sure it wasn't because he's too excited to get some shots.

Swimming Day

We had about 14 kids, 3 teachers and 3 assistant teachers from High Scope came to our house to have a 'swimming day'. Alec had a hard time playing bare-chested in front of his friends. Most of our DC stuff was nicely stored in the Virginia, it was a sheer of luck that Alec had his 'outdoor' swim suit; was accidentally sent to Medan.

Lisa's Visit

Mom's niece, Lisa, came from Jakarta for a 4-day visit. She is a load of fun!

Hide and Seek

Me: "O-oh, where is Alec.....? Is he behind the this chair? Hmm...No. Is he under the table?"
Alec: "I'M NOT HERE!!!!"

Alec: "We can buy it in the intermen, Mom"
Me: "Where is that?"
Alec: "Mom! That's when you buy stuff from your computer!"

Jetlag

Finally! Alec stayed awake all day today and crashed at 6 p.m. It's amazing what jetlag can do to a little boy. We were watching tv in his bedroom and you could tell Alec was almost asleep. He was responding very slowly to my questions and blinking very slowly; though I tried to keep him awake there was nothing I could do. He fell asleep on his dinner and NOT getting up. Spaghetti sauce was all over his face but it didn't bother him. A few minutes later I then realized that I was thinking very slowly and blinking really heavily. Maybe we are both finally get over our jetlag.

Alec ran excitedly and jumped on my bed...
Alec: "Mommy! You're here! You really here!"
Me: "Hey cutie, I miss you"
Alec: "Where did you go, Mom?"
Me: "I went to Jakarta"
Alec: "O, I forgot two things"
Me: "What's that?"
Alec: "I forgot my yellow robot...and I forgot the other thing"

Morning Battle

Alec did a spiderman leap and screamed: "Alecgator is going to attack you!!!!!!" and landed on my chest and tickled me on my bed this morning...
Alec: "It's today weekend, Mommy?"
Alec enjoys school and loves to see his friends, but somehow he struggling to get ready and getting out of the house.
Me: "You don't have to go to school, tomorrow"
Alec: "What about today, no school today?"
Me: "Hey, do you think it will be more fun to invite Raymond, Christopher, Michael and Annabel to come over to play water slide?"
Alec: "I don't know their home, Mommy"
Me: "You can invite them in the class"
Alec: "So I have to go to school, today?"
