1. Me: "It's almost 9! Time to bed! You are going to the farm, tomorrow. How fun!"
Sean: "O! Can I come, Alec? Please?"
Alec: "Dad, don't be silly. It's a field trip from school, it is only for kids. Daddy's place is in the office to make money and kids are going to school. That's how life is"

2. Me: "How was your field trip to the farm? Was it fun?"
Alec: "It wasn't a farm, there are only 2 horses and 2 monkeys"
Me: "What did you do? Did you learn anything?"
Alec: "Yeah. I learnt about leaves. We picked some leaves"
Me: "What kind of leaves?
Alec: "They're just leaves, Mom. Leaves don't have any names"
Me: "Of course they do"
Alec: "No, they don't. It was just a very boring trip"

3. Alec: "Mom, I played in the construction room alone for a long time"
Me: "You did?"
Alec: "Yeah. I want you to stop doing your homework and play transformer with me."
Me: "Well, lots of kids playing by themselves. Sometimes kids need time alone"
Alec: "No, Mom. It just make it sounds so sad..."

4. Alec is potty trained since he was 2. He can do his business by himself, but sometimes, he needs to hold either my hand or Astuti's hand when he poop. Tonight, he jumped up and down and said: "Mom, I need your help! Hurry........"
Me: "I'm on my way" ... and then he hold my arm...
Alec: "I miss you, Mom..." I realized I have been busy lately, and I said: "I miss you, too, sweetie. But we're going to Jakarta this long weekend. We're going to have lots of fun, just Alec and Mommy"
Alec: "When I'm bigger and taller, I will not need you anymore, Mom. I mean, I mean I don't need any help in the bathroom whether it's hard or easy."
Me: "Well thanks for sharing that, with me"
Alec: "No problem, Mom...I love you so much"
